Kraft Pimento Cheese Spread
…to be sure, this is probably a “food” that you shouldn’t eat with anything but something that is as processed, like Ritz Crackers Munchables … Do you think people actually eat this with celery sticks?
And while you are at it, why not pick up a jar of Old English flavor cheese?

McDonald’s European Invasion Part Deux
Already imbedded in half of the 1,200 McDonald’s “restaurants” in Germany, and in 20% of Russian and Italian McD’s, the McCafe will be strewn all over Europe by the end of the year. The venerable same-same corporate phenom plans to expand its Starbucks competitor, the McCafe, to 1,200 sites in Europe by end of the year. McCafes will either be inside or located next door to existing McDonald’s restaurants. The slightly-cheaper-than-Starbucks espresso drink prices coupled with the rise in demand for its cheeseburgers and other slop from recessionist consumers bodes well for the Golden Arches.

Ok, big deal. Another McDonald’s post. Yay.
Though it is fun interesting to note that McDonald’s, one of the very few American companies to thrive and grow in this recession, will be making a massive push to shill coffee drinks overseas.
These drinks will be offered in a variety of blends of coffee supplied by none other than Kraft inc…that lovely American corporate juggernaut that makes cookie-cutter-giant-factory-fabricated-cardboard-boxed food stuffs; and oh yea, Kraft has also seen an impressive 10%+ quarterly increase in sales in this recession (think Mac and Cheese)…
Further evidence that we truly live in a fast food culture, which though it pays premiums for organic salad greens, generates bigger profits for the purveyors of soylent greens…because it tastes good and it always tastes the same…and is priced right for cash poor recessionistas.
Time to buy some Kraft stock?

Economy Down, Mac n Cheese Up
Kraft foods reported sales increase of more than 10% in first quarter of 2009 for it’s mac and cheese dinner offerings. Also Kool-Aid and Jello-O sales saw ’solid gains.’
Sooo?
You can add that to your basket of goods to buy when betting on investing in ’sin stocks’ like tobacco, gambling and alcohol. As budget-conscious families support the solid growth of WalMart and McDonalds throught this recession, so they will also increase their purchases in crummy pre-packaged foods.
It all comes around though.
You will have to pay the piper eventually. But, man o’ man, that mac n’ cheese is tasty.
The more of this day-glo orange pasta you eat, the more you save today, but the more you will pay in health care tomorrow…
Eager to find some investor and company information on Kraft, I stumbled upon this tasty dish of a recipe on kraft.com that no doubt is a popular recipe these days (you can blame the economy, folks, but i think that is just an excuse to enjoy this sodium and fat laden treat of a meal)
