KFC Crop Circle

google Earth is awesome - especially since you can see this masterful piece of advertising for KFC.  so somewhere in Tampiute Nevada - near Rachel Nevada, of course - Yum brand foods has created a crop-circle-esque-logo of the colonel’s visage.

Just When You Thought They Couldn’t Do Anything More With Chicken…

…they go and do this.

KFC’s new ‘Double Down’ Sandwich is…oh man, it’s…crazy.

It has  plenty of the “Colonel’s Sauce” which is likely mostly mayonnaise, two layers of different kinds of melty cheese AND bacon!!!

Awesome!  Right?

but there is more!

Instead of Buns or bread, they use TWO DEEP FRIED CHICKEN BREASTS!!!

what the????

According to their commercial, it sells for $6.99, and has “so much 100 percent premium chicken we didn’t have room for a bun,”

So, the blogosphere and newsires are full of outrage and shock.  Obesity in America, hedonism, health.  Yes, yes.  I hear ya.  But when you stop and think about it - isn’t this dish just the American red-neckish fast food version of a Cordon Bleu?  So, one could say that to scoff at the Double Down sandwich is being unpatriotic.

Beef Flavored Chicken: KFC’s Secret Ingredient

Apparently, alongside its Partially Hyrdogenated Soybean Oil and MSG additives, KFC also flavors its new Grilled Chicken dish with Rendered Beef Fat and “Beef Powder.”

Gross!

hrm. it probably tastes pretty good though.

Oprah Wants You to Eat Chicken

soooo.  Oprah is promoting KFC.  Go to her site, oprah.com, and find some details about getting chick’n.  You will note that the title reads:

“The Oprah Winfrey Show/Kentucky Grilled Chicken Two-Piece Meal Coupon”

I find the whole promo really surreal, and somewhat big brotherish.  Oprah?  KFC? meh.

Yes friends, the food facts are back on renchin.com.  And today’s fact of the day is about chicken!
