BART Logo Designer Influenced By Star Trek? or Vice Versa?
Original BART (bay area rapid transit) Logo as it appeared in 1958

aaand the star trek insignia:

see the similarity?
So, seeing how Star Trek debuted in 1966….perhaps the creators of star trek (er, at least the designers) were big BART fans?
perhaps, perhaps….you never know

Another BSG Movie
So if you haven’t seen the BSG prequel, Caprica, AND
you are a Battlestar Galactica dork fan, check it out. It is worth the hour and 33 minutes… at the very least, it will give you an insight into what the rumored SciFi channel’s upcoming series with the same name will be all about. It’s good, even if it lacks Starbuck and Baltar and Caprica 6….
But, Lo, there is another BSG movie coming out - this one is slated for a September release and is directed by Admiral Adama himslef, Edward James Olmos: Battlestar Galactica: The Plan.
At a smidgen over 2 hours long, the movie concept is rather interesting - it is a view of what went down over the past 4 seasons as seen from the cylon perspective. Says EJO about the movie, “”You see the complete opposite of the first 281 days of what we went through, … seen through the eyes of the Cylons, and it is breathtaking. It’s fantastic…”
oookay.
Is this an attempt to boost the sales of the BSG series (as it likely tempts you to re-watch -rent or buy- the previous seasons of BSG all over again) or is this really meant to appease the BSG dweebs’ unquenchable thirst for more eye candy from the 12 lost colonies?
Probably both.
Either way, it’s going on my Netflix queue for sure…just below Season 3 of Mork and Mindy.

Darth on the Skids
Funny, in that, “look what i found on the Internet” sort of way.
What is interesting in a, “I wonder who the guys are that staged this picture?” sort of way is that it kind of looks like this was staged in Mexico or somewhere else South of the border…? Not to mention that they misspelled “Death Star.”
